DOGGY DOCK DIVING 

Paw Law Dog Training offers classes & workshops for this great new doggy sport.  Classes from beginning land training, to  will my dog swim, will my dog jump, to how to get my dog to jump higher and farther. 

Except for winter/indoor classes and the early spring land training class, all dock diving classes will be held on the far east side of Elgin (Rt. 59 & Irving Park), at "On Spencer's Pond", a private swimming hole in an area that is loosely fenced. All outdoor classes listed below are contingent on the weather, which means that if the temp is below 60 degrees or if there is an imminent threat of an electrical storm, classes will be cancelled for that day.

Indoor Dock Diving Classes

Indoor Dock Diving classes will be held at For Your K9 - 1975 Cornell Avenue, Melrose Park, IL 60160. YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER FOR THESE CLASSES,THEY ARE ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVED REGISTRATION.

Outdoor Dock Diving Classes

Land Training Class

OUTDOOR DOCK DIVING HAS ENDED FOR THE SEASON - Anticipated start date for outdoor classes is 4-14-12

This class will be held indoors at Paw Law and will introduce participants to the sport of Dock Jumping, including Extreme Vertical.  We will offer training ideas that will lead to success in dock jumping. 2-Hour, one session class.

Introduction to Water & Swimming

Who says Basset Hounds don't swim?   Emily & Dude work with Don

Not sure if your dog likes water or will be willing to swim, so you don’t want to commit to weekly classes?  (minimum 3 dogs/5 dogs maximum). Then, this two session class is for you.  Class will be held at "On Spencer's Pond", 33 Gromer Road, Elgin, IL 60120.

Introduction to the Sport of Dock Diving

This is a 4-week program that will gradually introduce the dog, to jumping off the dock.  Dogs enrolled in this class should “like” water. (minimum 4 dogs/6 dogs maximum). Class will be held at "On Spencer's Pond", 33 Gromer Road, Elgin, IL 60120.

Class fee for 4-week class is $95.00 (4 sessions)

Refining Dock Diving Skills for Distance - including Big Air, Extreme Vertical & Speed Retrieve Practice

6-week session for dogs that are happily diving off the dock. (minimum 4 dogs/6 dogs maximum).  You can work on Big Air (distance), Extreme Vertical (height), and/or practice Speed Retrieve (fast retrieve with bumper 40' from the end of the dock).  Class will be held at "On Spencer's Pond", 33 Gromer Road, Elgin, IL 60120.

Class fee for 6-week class is $120.00 (6 sessions)

* These classes are part of  Paw Law's "Punch/Training Card" classes.  Punch cards are purchased the first day of class and are valid for 10 weeks after purchase (5 weeks if your are using one card for multiple dogs or multiple classes).  In other words, you have 10 weeks to use up 8 punches.  After 10 weeks, the card expires.  NO EXCEPTIONS.  Pay Law's punch cards are NOT transferable to any other dog.  Paw Law is NOT responsible for lost cards.  If an owner forgets their card, they will be required to pay $18 (cash, check, or credit card) for that night's class.  NO EXCEPTIONS.  There are NO refunds for unused punches on a punch/training card.  Contact Jan Hicks, 847/888-4725; Jan@pawlaw.com for more information.

Private training sessions are available for $40 for one dog; $10 each additional dog, by appointment only.

Dock Rentals are available by appointment only.  Hourly rental is $30 for the first dog, plus $10 for every additional dog.

Paw Law has doggy life-preservers in various sizes for dogs that are new to dock diving and/or swimming.

Additional classes will be added or deleted based on need.  Start dates and times are subject to change. Since Spring weather in the Midwest is unpredictable, we will NOT have class if the temperature is below 60 degrees or if there is an imminent threat of severe thunderstorms.

All "INTRODUCTION CLASSES" WILL BE LIMITED TO 5 DOGS per class.  Early registration is advised.
